Winter 2025 Tournament Lac Brome

On Saturday and Sunday, February 22 and 23, the first pickleball tournament was held at Tennis Lac Brome, the Winter 2025 Tournament.

Players were split into two groups, 3.0, and 3.5+. 12 teams were registered in the 3.0 and 10 in the 3.5+. The towns of Sutton, Bromont, Brome Lake, as well as other local municipalities were represented.

The whole event ran on time, which in itself is pretty amazing.

The Tennis Lac Brome is an exceptional facility: Two pickleball courts, good lighting, space to spare, and a REAL playing surface. What more could we ask for.

Our two local champions, Ivan Dubé and Martin Courchesne won gold in the 3.5, followed in second place by François Faust and his partner Peter Shapiro. Stephen Giesler and Jacques Legault rounded out the podium in third place. All these players, with the exception of Peter Shapiro, are members of the Sutton Pickleball Club. Not a bad showing for the Club.

The organizer, Stéphane Amyot, says he wants to organize four of these tournaments per year, so, given the superb organization, I suggest you all register if you have the chance.
