On July 27, the first Challenge of the Cantons was held, organized by the Sutton Pickleball Club at the Le Balzac pickleball club, located at the Manoir de Sables in Orford.
150 players, members of the six invited clubs, along with perfect weather, gathered for a day of fun and pickleball. Serge St-André, the sports director, had prepared a game format that seemed to please everyone.
The players were divided into two groups, and the results are as follows:
Novice - Intermediate in the morning
- Gold: Sylvie Côté - Patrick Lessard, Magog-Orford Club
- Silver: Frédérique Marceau - Jean-Pierre Hogue, Sutton Pickleball Club
- Bronze: Annie Grand'Maison - Josée Ricard, Magog-Orford Club
Intermediate - Advanced in the afternoon
- Gold: Ivan Dubé - Martin Courchesne, Sutton Pickleball Club
- Silver: Didier Teruel - Marcel Laflamme, Magog-Orford Club
- Bronze: Éric Courtemanche - Jean Grégoire, Magog-Orford Club
The atmosphere was festive, and the BBQ and numerous door prizes delighted everyone.
